PRODUCER
This blend brings together coffees from two distinct communities:
Uganda
Since 2017, The Coffee Gardens has been supporting ethical specialty coffee production and transparent connections between farmers and customers. Through collaboration with Falcon, farmers receive training in sustainable agricultural practices, including shade-grown cultivation and improved harvesting techniques.
Ethiopia
The Kotta cooperative is part of the Kata Maduga Union, established in 2016. This union helps twenty local associations better organize the sale and export of their harvests. Kotta cooperative members are smallholders with plots ranging from one to twenty hectares. Because the coffee grows at high altitudes above 2,000 meters, the cherries ripen more slowly, gaining their characteristic density and sweetness.
PROCESSING
Both processes ensure clarity and complexity of flavor.
Uganda
Fresh cherries were pulped and fermented for 20 hours in plastic tanks without water. They were then thoroughly rinsed with cool mountain spring water, dried on African beds within solar dryers, and subsequently sorted in 12 stages.
Ethiopia
After harvest, farmers deliver the cherries to the washing station, where the process begins by removing the skin and part of the pulp. The coffee is then left to ferment for 12 hours to break down the remaining sugars on the bean’s surface. Afterward, it is mechanically cleaned and moved to raised African beds, where the beans dry for 6 to 7 days. This quick and controlled washed process helps maintain a clean and bright flavor in the coffee.
VARIETY
Uganda
The SL14, SL28, and Nyasaland varieties create a unique flavor combination. SL14, a Ugandan classic, brings subtle citrus notes and a light tea-like body with excellent disease resistance. SL28, a legendary Kenyan variety, is prized for its intense fruitiness, sweetness, and notes of blackcurrant. Nyasaland, a historic Arabica from Malawi, adds delicate floral and tea notes with a light citrus sweetness.
Ethiopia
In this coffee, you will find a mix of original Ethiopian varieties, collectively known as Heirloom. These are coffee trees that have evolved naturally in the region over centuries. In the cup, they manifest a typical floral and herbal aroma with a light body, exactly what we expect from a quality Ethiopian coffee.
We work with several couriers worldwide, the table HERE specify the conditions for each country.

This coffee was grown high in the Ugandan mountains near the village of Zebigi and processed by Coffee Gardens. The coffee company has a station below the mountain where most farmers live; they know all of them in person. They blend the coffee into micro lots by combining coffees with similar flavor characteristics processed on the same day.
