Nidia is a coffee with a story that truly moved us. We hadn’t planned on bringing it at all, but when Petr visited Nidia during his trip to Colombia, it became clear that we simply had to. Her energy, the way she cares for her farm, and the way she uplifts those around her are all reflected in this Geisha.
A limited edition built on genuine passion and the strength of a story.
Farm and Producer Story
Behind this coffee is Nidia Ramírez Correcha, president of the Amucaflome Association and a leading figure in the coffee-growing region of Ortega. Nidia is not only an excellent farmer but also an inspiring leader, encouraging women in her community to take an active role in coffee production.
Together with her husband, William Lozano, she has been managing the Los Laureles – La Arabia farm for more than 20 years. The farm was inherited from William’s mother, Farina Inés Quintero, a strong and independent woman who kept the farm alive during difficult years marked by armed conflict. Today, Nidia carries on this legacy with passion, focusing on producing one of the world’s most celebrated varieties – Gesha.
Processing
The harvest is entirely manual, with only fully ripe cherries being selected for processing. To ensure quality, Nidia sometimes offers bonuses to pickers for meticulous work. After picking, the cherries rest for 12 hours in their whole fruit form before being pulped. The coffee then undergoes about 22 hours of fermentation in tanks, followed by careful washing and two rinses with clean mountain water.
Drying takes place in parabolic solar dryers, where the coffee is pre-dried and then slowly dried in thin layers until it reaches the ideal moisture content. This method guarantees a stable quality and a complex flavor profile.
Varietal
This lot consists exclusively of Gesha, the legendary Arabica variety celebrated worldwide for its floral notes, delicate sweetness, and outstanding complexity. While other varieties such as Caturra, Castillo, and Pink Bourbon are also grown on Los Laureles, Gesha remains the farm’s crown jewel.
We work with several couriers worldwide, the table HERE specify the conditions for each country.

Why Uganda Matters
Namugowa isn’t just another specialty coffee. It’s part of a bigger story that we’ve poured a piece of ourselves into. A year ago, we had the chance to be right there in Uganda – to meet the farmers who grow the coffee, to see the process from harvest to drying. And that’s when we realized we wanted to do even more.
Together with The Coffee Gardens, we co-financed the opening of a QC Lab in Uganda. This quality control laboratory enables farmers to evaluate their harvest directly on site, refine their practices, and, as a result, achieve fairer prices.
Every cup of Namugowa is not only about flavor, but also about the future. About giving farmers the tools and knowledge that open doors to better conditions and stability. And that’s exactly why we love returning to Uganda.🤎
